Viswanath Chirravuri

Viswanath S Chirravuri is a cybersecurity and product security leader who currently serves as Chief AI Security Governance for Thales Cyber and Digital. He has more than 20 years of experience in software engineering, application security, and AI security, and he has worked across the banking, technology, and government sectors on four continents. He holds a Doctor of Engineering in Cybersecurity Analytics from The George Washington University and a Master of Science in Information Security Engineering from the SANS Technology Institute. He is one of a small group of people in the world who hold the GIAC Security Expert (GSE) certification, and he also holds the CISSP, the PMP, and more than 35 other industry certifications. He is the author and instructor for SANS SEC546 on Securing Agentic AI course and instructor for the SEC545 course on GenAI and LLM application security. He founded the AI AppSec Academy and contributes to open-source projects that focus on securing machine learning systems. Viswanath lives in Austin, Texas, and he often writes and speaks about how application security and AI come together.
